Grantham is worth a stop to see the rolling green hills, the clear blue lake of Eastman, or the old barns and farms on Route 10. There’s also a thriving business community offering goods from toys to quilts to art and services from landscaping to dance classes. Eastman, a planned community in Grantham, offers golf, swimming and cross country skiing to residents, guests and visitors.

Over the river and through the woods on cross country skis we go! The Eastman Cross Country Center in Grantham offers 17 miles of groomed trails. You can start with a simple 1.1 mile “Lazy Loop” trail or try the more difficult 3.2-mile Bright Slope Trail, which includes some tricky downhill runs over bridges.

The Reney Memorial Forest, on Route 10 South, is a 428-acre parcel of land on the outskirts of town. It protects the headwaters of the North Branch of the Sugar River and includes a pristine bog and red maple swamp fed by the headwaters of Bog Brook. A portion of a trail network passes through the forest and a second warming hut is maintained on the property. Hiking, hunting and fishing are allowed.

The The Farmer's Table Café sources all their ingredients locally. A wood fired brick oven ensures that you can get an awesome fresh pizza at lunch or dinner.
